Oh, you thought collecting stopped at reborns?
One of the best parts of this hobby is getting to shop for all of the adorable baby things! Sure, outfits are fun (seriously!), but the accessories are what makes this hobby feel comforting and really special.
I live in a small house, filled with kids, pets, and a whole lot of love. I definitely don’t have space for a full nursery, so I created a “reborn corner” right by my bed. It’s my cozy little space just for me and my babies. And because space is limited, I’ve learned how to pick accessories that are actually worth having. Some of my favorite baby items are sprinkled throughout the house, always within reach when I want cuddles.
Whether you have a full nursery or a tiny corner like me, here are the 10 accessories I truly believe every reborn collector should have. Accessories that have tested, loved, and used daily in my own home.
1. Bassinet: a comforting home base
One of the first items I ever bought was a Fisher-Price bassinet, and it was the perfect choice. When I’m not snuggling with a baby, they lay safely inside and look like a real baby who’s peacefully napping. It’s also the main feature of my reborn corner because it just makes sense. It keeps baby visible, accessible, and cozy.
Sometimes I wheel the bassinet into the living room while I’m cooking or doing work on my laptop. I love having a baby near me while I go about my day. It makes the experience feel sweet and nurturing.
2. Baby Bouncer: the most used item in my house
My baby bouncer lives in the living room and I wouldn’t change that for the world. Whenever I sit down to relax, my reborn is right next to me and that brings me so much comfort.
Originally, I looked at the fancy bouncers with aesthetic designs and high price tags. But I ended up choosing a simple, affordable one, and honestly? It has become one of my most used products. Sometimes the affordable option is the right one!
3. Baby Lounger: portable and perfect for photos
I saw a few collectors using these on Tik Tok and I thought they were way out of budget… until I found one that wasn’t! It’s now one of my go-to accessories because:
· It’s portable and I can easily move it room to room
· It’s amazing for photography. Just dress baby cute, add a plush toy, and you instantly have Instagram magic!
If you enjoy taking aesthetic pictures, a lounger is a GAME CHANGER.
4. Pacifiers: simple is best
Every reborn parent needs pacifiers! And I’ve definitely tested my fair share.
Out of all the different kinds I’ve tried, the simple styles are the ones I go back to every time. They stay close to baby’s face, hide the magnet well, and they just look natural. Plus, they’re gentle on the wallet which is a huge bonus when you’re buying multiple!
5. Plushies: cute companions for every photo
I am a plushy believer. Whether I’m taking a reborn on an outing or staging a photoshoot at home, plushies add that soft, cozy, newborn feel that I love.
Set one next to baby or tuck it under their tiny arm and suddenly:
· Baby looks more realistic
· The scene looks intentional
· The picture tells a story
It’s such a small accessory with a big impact.
6. Blankets: cozy is a lifestyle
Blankets are probably my weakness. I have a whole drawer dedicated to them and I regret none of it.
Muslin blankets are perfect for:
· Wrapping
· Car seat outings
· Warm weather cuddles
And thicker blankets are a must for:
· Snuggling
· Lounging in winter
· Creating cozy little napping setups
Blankets come in so many different prints and textures, usually at an affordable price, making them one of the easiest and most satisfying buys.
7. Stroller + Car Seat Combo: for all the adventures
Pumpkin patches with a warm latte in hand.
A breezy walk in the park.
A quiet shopping day at your favorite outlet mall.
A stroller/ car seat combo makes outings feel natural and fun, not stressful.
There are tons of options out there, so I chose one that fit my budget: Evenflo. And it came with a pram attachment, which is SO fun for creating adorable posing and outing photos.
8. Baby Carrier: for peaceful, low attention outings
If you enjoy getting out of the house with your reborn, but you also enjoy not being the center of attention, a carrier is the way to go.
I use the Boba Bliss because:
· It keeps baby snug against my chest
· I can gently pull the fabric over their head to keep them hidden
· It feels calm, private, and cozy
Some outings are just better with a little quiet, personal bonding time.
9. Silk Head Liner: save the rooted hair
If your reborn has rooted hair, this is an essential accessory many people forget.
Laying baby on regular fabric can cause:
· Frizz
· Over training
· Tangled patches
A small silk or satin square eliminates that problem. I bought one piece of silk and cut it into little hand-sized squares: one for every spot where a baby rests. Their hair stays soft and neat with no more bed head!
10. White Onesies: the ultimate layering piece
Plain white onesies are a reborn parent staple.
-They protect vinyl from dye transfers
-They hide the cloth body when outfits run big
-They add structure to clothing
-They’re neutral and go with everything
Simple. Effective. Worth having plenty of.
Why These Accessories Matter
Collecting reborns is more than just owning dolls. It’s about creating moments and comfort. Having the right accessories helps:
· Make photos look realistic
· Keep babies displayed safely
· Make daily cuddles more accessible
· Bring that nurturing experience into your actual life
Little baby items scattered throughout the house keep the magic alive. It’s the difference between “a doll on the shelf” and “a baby in your home.”
